the way you through new years' eve : burning books

There are many way to celebrate new year's. I choosed to pass it with my family in my sister's house, grilled some fish, invited our relation, chatted together, watched great fireworks, and thanked to God. It was great for me. but, how about other people did to through their new year's eve ?

At 9pm I  and my mother went home, it's about 15minute from our party. I saw the road more quite than the usual. There were durian seller who was hoping their durians would be bought. Then, I arrived at home. I saw my neighbor burn something, I guessed it was a fish, like we did. My mother say hi to her, and asked what she was doing. She said that she was burning books of her late husband. Her son was working, and her daughter was going with their little family.

None of the daughters cared about their mom and we can't blame them. Perhaps, they wanted a moment for their little family. But I thought, there will be better for every one if we can through happy hour with people who love us and we love.

at the end of my first semester in college, I had much leisure time. Julian  asked me to paint with him one day before Chinese New Year. First, we were going to market, bought some canvas and some kebaya for his mother. than we came to my home. hoho.. this was also his first time for visitng my house. After drawing big flower, I was stuck with my flower. Untill end of my 2nd semester, I hadn't finished it yet. Than,  I had finished it about 1 week ago.I gave my first painting to him. haha...  actually, I like painting, but I never tried to paint in canvas.

My Barong

Nowadays, I prefer to paint than design a cloth. My 2nd painting is a Barong, yellow and brown barong. I think it doesn't have scary impression. Oke, I don't want to lie about the impression. After I had finished it, I realized that the eyes of the barong looks funny. But the teeth impress it's not funny.

Now I made this, because I was inspired by traditional dress from japan. I interest to Japan. I hope one day I can go there. hehe

 I was trying to make mini sexy dress with big line that I think it will show the shape of body. I was inspired by Indonesian designer, Adesagi who's passed away last year. He's popular because of his asimetric style. But of course I can't make as good as he made.  I hope one day I can be better than him.

what is it like ?

ahahaha... i can't describe this picture. I thought that I wanted a girl with short skirt in brown color, used a hat, wore cardigan and blouse, brought a bag and hold a pen. but this is not as good as my imagination :p .

is it like Kebaya ?

I like modern Kebaya from Indonesia. My favorite designer for kebaya is Anne Avantie. She makes great kebaya, and every one who use her kebaya looks like a princess. I hope I can be like her, one day. hehehe
